Canadian friend gave me a ride to Wal-Mart, and I bought a small
television. Actually my friend gave me one soon after I started a new
life here, but it was too old to display proper screens. It costed me
about 60 dollars, to be more exact, less than 60. "You got mail" was
being broadcasted, so I watched it for a while. I'm so happy to have a
TV in my room.
Satoshi also wants to transfer to another college after this semster
for different reasons from mine. We and other friends talked about his
plans. It's goint to be a little tough, but I hope he will find his way.
I feel it's getting earlier to spend a week. I have spend almost a
month since I came here, so that may mean I get used to this place. But
I will have to leave here. I have very mixed feelings. I like here, and
I think the education in this university is great and what I have been
expecting for universities. Thinking of stuff after this semester, I
feel so confused.
Since I fell into a sleep with comfortable feelings and I have no class
in the morning on Wednesdays, I slept until noon. I had slept too much,
but I had a fine day. Although I had unexpected holidays on this week,
I have to study hard. I'll keep going.
February 4 is my birthday. I became twenty one. After I finished
classes, my friend gave me a ride and we got beer. In dorm I ordered
pizza delivery and spend a good time. It was nice birthday.
Today we were supposed to have regular class schedule, but Web
Publishing class, the only one class I have on Tuesdays, was canceled.
On this occasion I studied American History. We study American History
since 1865 at classes, that is, the American history after Civil War. I
was reading the pages about railroads and enterpreneurs in late
nineteenth century. It is interesting to read about Rockefeller and
Edison from historical view of America. I'm enjoying it.
Because of much snow, All classes for today was canceled. It snowed
inches high since last night. I was sleeping until noon, because I was
tired. When I woke up and the sun was high, the scenery was pretty
beautiful. I was excited. I hope it will keep fine.
Students gathered in a lounge and watched Super Bowl on a large TV. I
was also there and eating pizza. Some students played pool beside them,
so I joined in them. To tell the truth, I can't understand what
interests them so much. When I said we can't watch American football
games on TV in Japan, they were surprised. I think this difference
comes from our environment.
